(Kit.) Griseb.
Calystegia silvatica (Large Bindweed) is a striking white-flowered bindweed with large, showy flowers, which are noticaby larger than those of Hedge Bindweed. The flower stalks are hairless and not (or hardly) winged. The two, large green bracteoles that surround the base of the flowers overlap strongly, unlike those of Hedge Bindweed (Calystegia sepium). It grows in similar places to Hedge Bindweed and is widspread in West Glamorgan where it probably occurs mostly (or entirely) as Calystegia silvatica subsp. silvatica.
