Callitriche platycarpa, Various-leaved Water-starwort, is a common Water-starwort of mesotrophic or eutrophic ditches, canals and other slow-flowing watercourses. It is variable in its morphological characters and is often confused with Common Water-starwort (Callitriche stagnalis) which is much less aquatic (see description of Common Water-starwort for details on how to differentiate these two species). It is widely distributed throughout West Galmorgan and is one of the most common Water-starworts that occur in canals and deep, slow-flowing waters.
