Linnaeus
Soft Brome, is a very common, densly pubescent annual grass which is found in a wide range of grassy places such as meadows, roadside verges and waste places. It is extremely variable in stature, ranging from quite small plants about 10cm high to very tall, robust plants which are greater than 100cm. Bromus hordeaceus subsp. hordeaceus is widespread and common in West Glamorgan. Other distinct Soft-brome subspecies that have been recorded here are Bromus hordeaceues subsp. ferronii and Bromus hordeaceus subsp. longipedicellatus and they are described separately.
