(Hudson) Fourr.
Bromopsis erecta (Bromus erectus) Upright Brome, is a densley tufted, wintergreen perennial grass of rough calcareous grassland. In Britain, it is widely distributed in England but rare in the west and scarce in most of Wales. In some ways its distribution and ecology are very similar to those of Tor Grass (Brachypodium pinnatum). Like that species, Upright Brome is rare in West Glamorgan but it has expanded its range westwards along the south Gower cliffs in recent decades.
