Betula utilisĀ var, jacqemontii, Jaquemont's Birch, is a variety of Himalayan Birch which is native to the western Himalaya. It is a distinctive, small, white-barked tree which is commonly planted in parks, urban greenspaces and along roadsides on industrial estates. It rarely if ever naturalises itself and does not occur in wild populations. It resembles Silver Birch (Betula pendula) and Paper Birch (Betula papyrifera), but the bark is strikingly white with distinctive horizontal lenticels.
