(Sm.) A. Massal.
A species of soft calcareous rocks and lime mortar, frequently in association with cyanolichens. The thallus is comprised of overlapping inflated squamules, though these can be reduced by mollusc grazing. Differentiated from the closely related Thalloidima sedifolium by the 3-septate, not 1-septate, spores and black apothecia.
Site details: Recorded at Margam landfill on a calcareous slag rock embedded in slag spoil, direct associates including Placynthium nigrum and Protoblastenia rupestris.
