Enchylium (Collema) tenax var. tenax Soil Jelly Lichen

Enchylium tenax forms a dark greenish-black, hard-gelatinous thallus which is usually covered with apothecia that become reddish when dry. The thallus becomes swollen when wet. It can be found growing on soil but is more often encountered on mortor on walls. It is quite variable in its form.
