Bacidina phacodes

(Körb.) Vezda

A species associated with basic or nutrient-rich bark on established trees. The thallus varies from smooth to scurfy, and can be whitish to grey-green. Apothecia develop into convex, beige discs with paler margins. The spores are 3-7(+) septate. Upper part of hymenium is K+ yellow. The only recent record was of a colony on a small branch of a roadside oak at Waungron, Pontaddulais.
