An attractive foliose lichen found growing on acid rocks in coastal areas around the UK. It forms brown rosettes of tightly appressed lobes, becoming green when wet. The apothecia have dark brown discs with raised crenulate margins. From the recording area is only known on the Gower peninsular, primarily on quartz-rich boulders and outcrops associated with Upper Old Red Sandstone of the Devonian.
