Myxomphalia maura

(Fr.) Hora

An uncommon species with a distinctive, greyish-brown cap which is deeply funelled (umbilicate) in the middle and becomes paler when dry. It usually grows in sandy soils and is an important member of the fungal dune asemblage in West Glaomorgan. It occasionally appears in large numbers on Crymlyn Burrows but is uncommon elsewhere.
