Inocybe soluta

Velen.

Inocybe soluta is an uncommon Fibrecap which is usuall associated with conifers. There have been few collections in West Glamorgan but it occurs with Lodgepole Pine on coal spoil in the Dulais Valley. It has a brown cap with a blunt umbo and young specimens have a cortina. It has some distinctive microscopic features that need to be confirmed when identifying this species. Firstly, the cheilocystidia on the gill face are cylindrical and usually lack crystals at their tips. Secondly, the spores are almost rectangular in shape with very blunt nodules.
