Inocybe rimosa Split Fibrecap

Cap Ffibr Hollt

(Bull.) P. Kumm.

Inocybe rimosa (Pseudosperma rimosum), Split Fibrecap, is widespread and common in Britain and West Glamorgan. It is frequently encountered in coastal woodlands on sand dunes. The pale ochre cap with longtitudinally fibrillose (rimose) streaks give it a very distinctive look. The cap is often sharply conical or dome-shaped and usually flattens out with a prominent central umbo as it matures. It has a strong spermatic odour.
