Cortinarius cinnamomeus Cinnamon Webcap

Cap Gweog Sinamon

(L.) Gray

Cortinarius cinnamomeus is the most common of the yellow/orange gilled webcaps in West Galmorgan. It grows in both coniferous and broad-leaved forests and it is commonly found with Sitka Spruce (Picea sitchensis) and Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta). The fruiting bodies have a dark reddish-brown cap and gills which are an intense and persistent orange colour. The spores are ellipsoid in shape and 7-9 micons in length.
