Coprinopsis acuminata

An uncommon Inkcap which grows on stumps, logs, woody debris or buried wood. Similar to Common Inkcap (Coprinopsis atramentaria) but smaller with a narrower, more conical and more or less smooth, obtusely pointed cap. Just one collection in West Glamorgan from the edge of a forest road in a Sitka Spruce (Picea sitchensis) coupe in Bryn Forest.
