Weissia perssonii Persson's Stubble-moss

Kindb.

An autoicous, acrocarpous moss which is very similar to Weissia controversa and can only be distinguished from it after microscopic confirmation of the smooth, elongated cells of the nerve on the upper surface of the leaf. It is an Oceanic species with an entirely western, coastal distribution in Britain and it is confined to the south Gower coast in West Glamorgan. Sporophyte capsules are abundant in spring.
