(Ehrh.) Dumort.
An attractive, dioicous leafy liverwort which grows on wet banks along streams and riversĀ in humid valleys and shaded ravines. The pinnate growth form with finely divided, fluffy-looking leaves make it almost unmistakable. It is largely confined to the west and north of Britain where it it is often represented by small, rather vulnerable populations and may be in decline. It is widespread but local in Wales and has a patchy distribution in the south. It is rare in west Glamorgan with only 2 recent records. Sporophytes are very rare.
