Pohlia flexuosa Orange-bud Thread-moss

Harv.

A dioicous, acrocarpous moss which grows in rocky places near streams and waterfalls. Similar to Pohlia annotina but with numerous almost spherical bulbils in the axils of the leaves. It is a species of montane habitats with a scattered western distribution in Britain and confined to upland habitats in Wales, mainly in the north. It is very rare in West Glamorgan with its only locality in the north-facing scarp of Craig y Llyn where it was recorded by Tony Smith in 1962 and refound by Sam Bosanquet in 2001. Sporophyte capsules are rare.
