(Dicks.) Dumort.
An orange-green or brownish-green, dioicous leafy liverwort which grows in ombrotophic mires and valley bogs. If you see a very small leafy liverwort with round, unlobed leaves trailing over Sphagnum, it is likely to be this species. It is a Suboceanic species and a frequent member of the peatland flora of the west and north of Britain. It is found throughout Wales in valley and blanket bogs but it appears to be rather scarce in West Glamorgan with most records from the Sphagnum bogs of the Gower Commons. Sporophytes are rare.
