(Raddi) L.Söderstr. & Vána
A small, dioicous, Mediterranean-Atlantic leafy liverwort which grows on calcareous rocks, particularly limestone, and on base-rich banks. It is a strict calcole and its distribution in Britain is strongly linked with the distribution of calcareos rock. It is easily confused with Mesoptychia badensis, but unlike that species it is not a species of forest tracks. Most records in West Glamorgan are from limestone rocks along the south Gower coast. Sporophytes are occsional.
