(Hook.f. & Taylor) Schiffn.
A minute, dioicous, hyperoceanic leafy liverwort that has been introduced to Britain from Australia and which grows on shaded rocks, peaty soil and the trunks ot tree-ferns in parks and gardens. The first record in Wales was made by BS in Wyevale Garden Centre, Llansamlet in 2018. There are very few records of it in Britain at this stage, but it is easily overlooked. It may expand its range in the light of current trends in climate change, which have proved to be beneficial for other hyperoceanic species. Both male and female plants occur in Britain and sporophyte capsules may be common in spring.
