Bruch, Schimp. & W.Guembel
A medium-sized, dioicous Pocket-moss with bordered leaves, which is very similar to Fissidens crassipes. Like that species it is aquatic or subaquatic, growing on intermittently submerged rocks or tree roots at the sides of streams, rivers, lakes and ponds. Safe identification requires examination of the leaves and measurements of cell size. It is a comparatively rare species in Britain with a local ditribution pattern which includes parts of south and mid Wales. It is scarce in West Galmorgan. Sporophyte capsules are occasional in autumn and winter.
