(Brid.) K.Saito
A small, dark-green, dioicous, acrocarpous moss that grows in well-drained calcareous soils where there are bare areas or thin turf. It is rather scarce in Britain and rare in Wales, where it is concentrated mostly along the south coast. It is rather non-descript and easy to overlook, but the sharply pointed leaves are distinctive. It is scattered along the coast in West Glamorgan, particularly in Gower. Sporophyte capsules are rare.
