(Hedw.) Schimp.

A common dioicous, acrocarpous moss which forms fairly compact cushions with fine, curved leaves in acidic habitats, particularly in broad-leaved and coniferous woodland, hedgebanks, heathland and soil-filled crevices in mountains.
