(Hook. & Taylor) M.Alonso, M.J.Cano & J.A.Jiménez
A dioicous acrocarpous moss that grows in loose patches on rocks close to water, often with species like Hyocomium armoricum and Heterocladium heteropterum. The relatively long, narrow wavy leaves, which tend to be a little crimped, are quite distinctive. It has a western and northern distribution in Britain and is found throughout most of Wales in suitable habitats. It is occasional in West Glamorgan, mostly along the river systems of Neath Port Talbot. Sporophyte capsules are very rare.
This species was formerly and better known as Trichostomum tenuirostre.
