Cephalozia lunulifolia Moon-leaved Pincerwort

(Dumort.) Dumort.

A small, dioicous leafy liverwort which grows on rotting logs and stumps in broadleaved woodland often with Lepidozia reptans and Tetraphis pellucida. It is occasionally found on rock in scree and on peaty ground. It is widely distrubuted and occasional in the west and north of Britain but there are vert few records of it in West Glamorgan where it may be overlooked, ignored or confused with other Cephalozia species. Sporophytes are occasional.
