Cephalozia connivens Forcipated Pincerwort

(Dicks.) Lindb.

An autoicous leafy liverwort that grows in bogs, wet heathland, flushes, on decaying logs and on moist peaty soils in other habitats such as marshy grasslands. It has quite distinctive translucent leaves which are inserted longtitudinally along the stem (not across it). It is most common in the west of Britain and has a scattered occurrence in West Glamorgan, but is not common there.
