(L.) Raddi
A rather dingy looking leafy liverwort and the most common and widespread Calypogeia in Britain. It is a plant of non-calcareous earth banks in woodland, as well as on banks along running water, on siliceous rocks and decorticated logs. It is similar to Calypogeia muelleriana but most of the leaves are shallowly notched and the underleaves are deeply bilobed (see photos). It is found throughout West Glamorgan where it is common. It is an autoicous species and sporophyte capsules are frequent.
