Hornsch.
A dioicous, acrocarpous moss mainly confined to free-draining calcareous sites such as rock ledges and areas where soil is exposed in short limestone grassland. It is a very scarce species in Britain, only found in the west where it is almost entirely coastal. In West Glamorgan it occurs on the coastal limestone cliffs and turf of south Gower between Mumbles and Rhosilli.
