Bryum capillare Capillary Thread-moss

One of the most common species of Bryum, widely distributed throughout Britain. It can be found in lots of different habitats but is commonly seen on walls, rock, soil, as an epiphyte on tree bark and on miscellaneous substrates including discarded household items and clothing. It is dioicous and sporophyte capsules are common and usually produced in striking abundance. It is very common throughout West Glamorgan particularly in the lowlands.
