Hedw.
A dioicous , acrocarpous moss which can only be identified unambiguously after microscopic examination of its capsules, which are common. Its distribution in Britain is uncertain because it has been confused with other similar Bryum species. Most West Glamorgan records have been confirmed and indicate that it is scattered in the county but is not as common as the similarĀ Bryum algovicum, particularly in coastal locations.
