Blepharostoma trichophyllum Hairy Threadwort

(L.) Dumort.

A very slender, thread-like leafy liverwort with spreading finger-like leaves, which creeps amongst other bryophytes on rocks in gorges and on tree trunks. It also grows on decaying logs, frequently with Cephaloziella curvifolia. It is a liverwort of the uplands and mountainous areas of the west and north of Britain. It is rare in West Glamorgan where it is found in the humid oceanic Nedd Fechan and Melincwrt valleys of Neath Port Talbot.
